A 60-minute Balinese massage at Ubud Traditional Spa costs Rp280,000+ per person according to its official menu (checked September 2026), but this family-run spa is not in central Ubud. It sits in Payogan village, about 4 km west of Ubud, next to Pura Pucak Payogan on the Campuhan Ridge route.
The official menu and prices
- Bali Traditional Massage: 60 min Rp280k+, 90 min Rp400k+. Palm pressure, from gentle to strong.
- Rice Farmer Massage: 60 min Rp310k+, 90 min Rp430k+. Uses forearms and elbows for deep pressure.
- Balinese Reflexology: 30 min Rp150k+, 60 min Rp260k+.
- Ubud Royal Massage: two therapists at once, 60 min Rp520k+ and 90 min Rp760k+ per person.
The + means extra charges apply; the spa's etiquette page also states that the massage fee excludes a service charge. Ask for the final total when you book.
7 things people miss before they go
- You cannot walk there from central Ubud. Free transfers run for two or more guests from the Museum Puri Lukisan car park or points within 4 km. Solo guests pay a small transport fee, and anything beyond 4 km has to be quoted on WhatsApp first.
- Book at least 4 hours ahead. This is not a walk-in spa, and guest reviews say weekends can fill up.
- Arrive 15 minutes early. Turn up more than 15 minutes late with notice and your session is shortened; without notice, the booking is cancelled.
- Free cancellation up to 6 hours before. Groups of more than 4 must give 10 hours' notice.
- Closed on major holidays. Galungan, Kuningan and Nyepi are days off. The next ones are Galungan on 13 January 2027, Kuningan on 23 January 2027 and Nyepi on 8 March 2027.
- Pregnant? The spa only recommends the Bali Traditional Massage. Guests must be aged 6-80.
- Tips are not included. A session already covers a welcome drink, a foot scrub of about 5 minutes, shower facilities and warm herbal tea afterwards. For what counts as a fair tip, see our guide to tipping in Bali.

If you are staying in the middle of Ubud with a free hour and no transport, a spa within walking distance such as Nur Salon is more practical. If there are two of you, the free pickup makes Payogan worth the trip.
