The Chowk at Taman Gita is open daily 12pm-10:30pm inside InterContinental Bali Resort, Jl. Uluwatu No.45, Jimbaran, and an à la carte meal for one (a chaat, a curry, naan and shared rice) usually comes to Rp300-450k before the 21% tax and service charge. The Indian restaurant opened in February 2026 (NOW! Bali) as a collaboration between the resort and The Chowk Indian Gourmet House, which also runs branches in Sanur, Ubud and Kuta.
What are the opening hours, and can non-guests eat there?
Daily 12pm-10:30pm, lunch through dinner without an afternoon break. The Chowk's official site says the restaurant is open to both resort guests and outside diners. It sits in Taman Gita, with an indoor room and a semi-outdoor terrace overlooking the pond. The launch release gives a capacity of up to 220 guests, while the branch page says 180.
How much per person?
InterContinental branch menu (checked September 2026): Palak Patta Chaat Rp85k, Samosa Rp78k, Chowk's Butter Chicken Rp206k, Dal Makhani Rp176k, Masala Dosa Rp176k, Chicken Biryani Rp210k, Butter Naan Rp44k, Gulab Jamun Rp94k, Masala Tea Rp45k, Bintang Rp70k. The tasting menu is Rp625k per person, minimum two people. All prices exclude 21% tax and service. An honest note: prices here are higher than on another The Chowk branch menu on the same website, for example chaat at Rp85k here versus Rp65k. If you only want a quick, affordable Indian curry, a branch outside the resort makes more sense.
Do I need to book?
Usually not for a regular lunch, but book for Friday or Saturday dinner, groups or the tasting menu. Use the Reservations button on thechowk.id, WhatsApp +62 811 3820 8768 or email [email protected] (contacts published by NOW! Bali and Bali Buddies).
If you stay at the InterContinental or another Jimbaran hotel on an AccessiaPass voucher, dinner here is a short walk or a few minutes' drive away.
Is it halal?
This branch's menu has no pork or beef; the meats are chicken, mutton, fish and prawns. However, the restaurant serves alcohol and does not state a halal certificate, so ask directly if you need certainty. Other options are in our Bali halal food guide.
Are there vegetarian and vegan dishes?
Plenty. The menu marks vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes. Options include Paneer or Tofu Tikka Rp163k, Malai Kofta Rp171k, Yellow Dal Tadka Rp149k, Subz Biryani Rp199k, South Indian idli and dosa, and a vegetarian tasting menu at the same Rp625k. Special needs such as Jain food are not listed on the menu; mention them when you order.
Who runs the kitchen?
Head chef Dhoom Singh, with Chef Suresh dedicated to chaat and Indian sweets, according to NOW! Bali. The menu spans North and South India, Indo-Chinese dishes such as Chilli Paneer and Manchurian, and street food like Gol Gappe and Pav Bhaji.

At lunchtime, ask for a table on the pond-side terrace and start with two chaats to share. They are small and the quickest way to judge this kitchen before you order curries.
