Aan Tourism Village in Banjarangkan district, about 8 km north of Semarapura, lists a full-day package at IDR 190,000 per person on its official profile on the Ministry of Tourism's Jadesta portal (checked October 2026). If you would rather build the day yourself, the route below uses the same activities at their individual prices and centres on the Pesiraman spring at Pura Desa Aan, where villagers come to melukat.
Before you go
Aan was designated a tourism village by Klungkung Regent Regulation No. 8 of 2021 and made the top 300 of the 2024 Indonesian Tourism Village Awards (ADWI). In August 2025 the Klungkung tourism office hosted an assessment team evaluating Aan as a candidate flagship destination, so the managers are still active. Jadesta prices carry no date, so treat them as a guide and confirm with the manager contact listed on the Aan Tourism Village page at least a day ahead, especially for trekking, cycling and tubing, which use guides.
The day, hour by hour
- 07:00 Leave Ubud (about 45 minutes via Gianyar) or Sanur/Denpasar (about 1 hour via the Ida Bagus Mantra Bypass).
- 08:00 Melukat at the Pesiraman of Pura Desa Aan. In the outer courtyard are five spouts named after the sacred syllables Sang, Bang, Tang, Ang and Ing, plus three dragon-shaped spouts used to purify ceremonial objects (detikBali, February 2024). Bring a canang or a banten pejati offering; the temple priest will guide you. The Pesiraman Pancaka Tirta package is listed at IDR 100,000.
- 09:30 Village trek (IDR 50,000) or cycling (IDR 50,000) past Petapan Park and Bukit Batu Kembar. Yoga at Petapan Park is listed at IDR 25,000.
- 11:00 See the kele honey farm, a stingless bee species (IDR 50,000), or take a silversmith class (IDR 100,000).
- 12:00 Lunch on village dishes (IDR 50,000), or drive 15-20 minutes down to Semarapura for smoked chicken at RM Rajawali.
- 13:30 Stop at Tihingan village, the gamelan-making village in the same Banjarangkan district, about 15 minutes away.
- 15:00 Head back. If you still have energy and have booked ahead, swap the afternoon for Aan Secret Waterfall (IDR 150,000), a guided trek where walkers are asked to pick up litter along the way.
To make an 08:00 melukat without leaving south Bali before dawn, one night in Ubud on an AccessiaPass hotel voucher cuts the morning drive to under an hour.
About melukat at the spring
This is a working temple restored with village funds in 2023, not a tourist pool. Wear a sarong and sash, follow the priest's lead, and as at temples across Bali, women who are menstruating do not enter the sacred area. The spouts are busy on full moon, new moon and other holy days, so pick an ordinary day if you want quiet. Read our temple etiquette guide before you go.
The downsides
- There is no public transport and signage to each attraction is thin; without a guide you will be asking villagers for directions a lot.
- Prices are per person per activity. For a family of four, trekking plus melukat alone comes to IDR 600,000, far more than a IDR 20,000 waterfall ticket in Bangli.
- IDR 150,000 for the Secret Waterfall feels steep if you only want to see a waterfall; you are paying for the guide and the trek.
- In rain the trekking paths get slippery, and tubing depends on river levels; ask about conditions the day before.
Location and booking
- Spring location: View on Google Maps
- Booking: through the tourism group contact on the Aan Tourism Village profile at jadesta.kemenpar.go.id, at least one day ahead
- Instagram: search on Instagram
- Staying in the village: Dira Family Guest House is listed at IDR 200,000 per room
If you only have half a day, do the melukat and the trek; both are over before 11:00, and the midday heat in lowland Klungkung can be fierce.
