Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali no longer exists under that name: since 1 February 2022 the same resort has operated as InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort, managed by IHG. It is still 120 suites and villas on 4 hectares at the southern end of Sanur Beach, Jl. Kusuma Sari No. 8. So if you search "Fairmont Sanur" on a booking app, what comes up is the InterContinental.
Room types and price range
- Junior Suite (90 m², garden or ocean): the entry category, already the size of a normal suite, with a furnished balcony and a choice of one king or two single beds.
- One Bedroom Suite (136 m²) and Spa Suite (157 m²): the Spa Suite includes a daily 60-minute treatment for one person, according to the official site.
- One-, two-, and three-bedroom private pool villas (the one-bedroom is 308 m²), with kitchens. Suited to families or small groups.
Junior Suites on booking sites usually start at around IDR 3 million a night (about USD 185), while villas cost far more (checked September 2026, varies by season).
Pools, beach, and dining
The main pool faces the sea and the sunrise and is open 7 am to 7 pm. Children get two pools of their own (0.9 m and 0.6 m deep) and an indoor air-conditioned kids' club. There are four places to eat: Pier Eight on the beach, Nyala by the pool, Layang Layang for breakfast, and the Lobby Lounge. Sanur's water is calm because the reef shelters it, and from the resort you can walk or cycle north along the promenade (see our Sanur Beach review).
Who it suits, and the drawbacks
The resort makes sense for families with young children, couples who want a large room without a party scene, and IHG One Rewards members. It is a poor fit if you want a shiny new hotel or nightlife.
- Guest reviews from 2025 and 2026 on TripAdvisor and booking sites repeatedly mention dated decor and maintenance problems, including water stains in some villas. Several guests felt the price was high for that condition.
- The lobby was scheduled for renovation from September 2025 to mid-2026; ask about its status when booking.
- This end of the beach often collects seaweed, and at low tide the water recedes, which makes sea swimming less pleasant.
