Bali Zoo in Singapadu, Sukawati, Gianyar, is one of Bali's favourite family wildlife parks. Unlike an ordinary zoo, here you can interact directly with the animals through guided programs, surrounded by shady tropical gardens. It sits only about 30 minutes from Ubud, so it's easy to reach for a half-day or full-day visit.
Signature Experiences
Bali Zoo is famous for interactive experiences you won't find elsewhere. Some of the most sought-after:
- Breakfast with Orangutans — a buffet breakfast in the company of orangutans in a dedicated area, a family favourite.
- Elephant Mud Fun — playing in mud and bathing elephants alongside the mahouts, a hit with kids.
- Night at the Zoo — a night safari to see nocturnal animals, usually with a themed dinner.
- Feeding sessions on schedule and mini animal encounters to get up close with gentle animals.
Great for Kids
Beyond the animals, there are children's play areas, pools, and light educational programs that keep little ones happy. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and water, as the grounds are large and explored on foot. Coming in the morning, when it's cool and animals are more active, is the best time.
Visit Tips
Book experience packages like the orangutan breakfast or mud fun well in advance, as slots are limited. Set aside at least 3–4 hours to enjoy it unhurried, and consider packages that already include a meal and photos.
