Sekumpul Waterfall, Buleleng: Bali's Most Beautiful Falls, Earned on Foot with a Guide

Hidden in the valley of Lemukih Village, Sawan District, Sekumpul Waterfall is regularly named the most beautiful waterfall in Bali. The name means ‘grouped together’ — around seven streams fall side by side from a cliff dozens of metres high into a valley floor thick with ferns and tropical trees. It sits in northern Buleleng, roughly 1.5–2 hours' drive from Lovina or Munduk, and the view rewards every minute of the journey.

The Descent and River Crossing

Sekumpul is not a roadside waterfall. After paying at the entrance post, you descend hundreds of concrete steps then a steep dirt path to the valley floor. The final stretch requires wading across a river — sometimes knee-deep, stronger in the rainy season — before you reach the foot of the falls.

• The descent takes about 30–45 minutes; the climb back is clearly harder.
• The path is slippery and muddy; wear trekking sandals or shoes you don't mind soaking.

Why You Need a Guide

The route to the base branches and is not always obvious, while river flow can rise quickly. A local guide is strongly recommended — they point out safe crossing spots, assist on slick steps, and usually include nearby Fiji Waterfall in the loop.
