The cheapest massage on the menu at Taru Pramana Spa & Wellness, the spa at The Meru Sanur, is the 60-minute Marga Usug at IDR 1,000,000++ for back, neck, shoulders and head. Full-body massages such as the Balinese Apun cost IDR 1,300,000++ for 60 minutes and IDR 1,500,000++ for 90 minutes, according to the menu on its official website (checked October 2026). The ++ means tax and service charge are added on top.
What you pay for
The menu draws on the Lontar Usada, a traditional Balinese healing manuscript. The Balinese Apun combines apun, gecel and limbun techniques (tapping, palm compression and thumb pressure); the 90-minute version adds a magnesium soak. Jala-Guna uses a warm sand and herb poultice. For two, the 120-minute Meru-Jaga ritual (coconut salt scrub, aroma massage, jamu facial care) costs IDR 3,400,000++ per couple. If you only want something short, the 30-minute Angga-Wangi ylang-ylang body scrub is IDR 500,000++.
There is also Manik Galih, a session lying on a heated crystal quartz sand bed. Its price is not listed on the same page, so ask when you book.
The downsides
Prices are three to four times those of day spas on Sanur's main road; a 60-minute Balinese massage at The Shampoo Lounge Sanur, for example, is IDR 325,000. Every treatment also has to be booked at least 24 hours ahead, so this is not a spur-of-the-moment option after a day at the beach. The website says its retreat programmes are open to outside guests; for a regular massage, mention that you are not staying at the hotel when you book so entry and parking can be arranged.
