Padma Resort Ubud is not in Ubud town: the address is Banjar Carik, Puhu village, Payangan, about 21 km north of Ubud Palace. Who it suits less

• Anyone who wants to stroll to Ubud's cafés and galleries. Guests put the real drive to central Ubud at 40-50 minutes, and the last shuttle back from town leaves at 5pm. Dinner in Ubud means a taxi home.
• Late-night arrivals. Ngurah Rai Airport is about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours away.
• Budget travellers. Several Kayak reviewers call it overpriced for Bali, and eating in adds up.
• Anyone hoping for a quiet pool in peak season. Guests report a crowded pool in high season, with sun loungers cleared around 4pm for restaurant set-up.
