Lamuri Sanur: South Indian and Sumatran Restaurant, Hours and Menu

Lamuri at Jl. Danau Tamblingan No. 49, Sanur, serves South Indian, Sri Lankan and Sumatran food for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Sunday; it is closed on Mondays. NOW! What are Lamuri's opening hours?

Revasi lists 11:30-15:30 for lunch and 17:00-22:30 for dinner. However, the online booking slots on Revasi only ran 13:00-16:00 and 17:00-21:00 when checked. If you want to come outside those times, ask on WhatsApp first.

Is Lamuri a hotel restaurant?

No. It stands on its own on Sanur's main street, but parking is behind the restaurant in the él Hotel car park, according to its booking page.

Who is the chef?

Chef-founder Aman Lakhiani, who cooked at Locavore in Ubud and at Nusantara by Locavore. The name comes from a port kingdom on the northern tip of Sumatra, active from the 9th to the 16th century, that traded with Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. The official site mentions research trips to Chettinad, Pondicherry, Chennai and Coimbatore.

What should I order?

• Kare Kambing, slow-cooked mutton curry with Sumatran and South Indian spices.
• Kothu Roti, chopped flatbread tossed with curry gravy, a Sri Lankan street-food staple.
• Crab Masala, crab in coconut and South Indian masala.
• Ayam Tangkap Aceh, the Sumatran side of the menu.
• Revasi also lists Gurame Pollichathu, Prawn Biryani, Chicken 65, plus dosa and tiffin.

Dishes are served family-style on banana leaves. There are vegetarian options and the spice level can be adjusted on request.

How much does it cost?

As of 25 September 2026, Lamuri had not published a priced menu on its site, and none of the coverage lists prices. Revasi places it in the $$$ bracket, a higher-end sit-down restaurant. On a tight budget, ask for the menu on WhatsApp before you go.

Do I need to book? Can I bring kids?

Book through the Book a Table button on the official site or on WhatsApp. Tables are held for 15 minutes past the booking time. Dress is casual and children are welcome if supervised. There are three areas: a Chef's Counter, the main dining room and a terrace.

What are the drawbacks?

It is only about a month old, so public reviews are few and consistency is unproven. The sharing format works against solo diners, who will only get to try one or two dishes. Prices that are not yet public also make planning harder.
