Bonnie by/Suka is what Suka Espresso turns into after dark at Jl. Raya Pengosekan No.108, Ubud. From 6pm the same café room becomes a bistro with a grill kitchen, cocktails and live music. According to its official menu (checked October 2026), small plates start at IDR 45k and mains run IDR 155-650k.
What to order
The grill is the reason to come. Honeycombers, which put Bonnie on its Hot New Tables list for October 2026, singles out the whole grilled white fish, the charred octopus and the Wagyu ribeye. Menu prices: white fish fillet with orange beurre blanc IDR 155k, charred octopus with starfruit IDR 165k, whole white fish with tarragon verjuice IDR 260k, and a 220 g MB5 Wagyu ribeye IDR 650k.
To start, the tuna crudo with coconut gel (IDR 89k) or three oysters with pineapple-cucumber granita (IDR 90k) keep things light before the grill. More filling: the striploin katsu sando at IDR 180k or the beef burger at IDR 140k. Pastas sit at IDR 110-158k, including a lobster tortellini at IDR 155k.
Signature cocktails cost IDR 120-135k. The Amaro Heat (gin, Campari, vermouth and house roasted pineapple syrup) that Honeycombers praised is IDR 135k. Mocktails are IDR 70k.
What it costs
A sample bill for two: tuna crudo, octopus, the whole fish, mashed potato (IDR 45k) and two signature cocktails comes to about IDR 800k before tax. The online menu does not say whether prices include tax and service charge. If they don't, expect the final bill to rise by a mid-teens percentage; the maths is explained in why Bali restaurant bills say ++. Chope lists the spot at IDR 250-400k per person.
When to go
The evening service runs 6pm-11pm daily according to the Chope listing. Honeycombers mentions a weekly line-up of Latin music nights, Friday DJ sets and weekend jazz. The exact schedule is posted on Instagram, so check it if you would rather have a quiet night. The room is small, 29 tables and 62 seats per the official site, and Chope caps seating at two hours per booking.
Verdict
Bonnie works for a relaxed but polished dinner just south of central Ubud, especially if you like grilled fish and meat. The drawbacks: the Wagyu steak is well above typical Pengosekan prices, one Chope review from August 2026 found the fish a little fishy, and the name is confusing. The Chope listing that uses Bonnie's booking code now appears as "SUKA Ubud", while bonnieubud.com and Honeycombers still say Bonnie. When booking, mention No.108 so you don't end up at another Suka branch.
Neighbours on the same road: Carbón at Alaya for wood-fired steak, or KAJA by Numa if your group would rather have pizza.
