Entry to Alas Utama Medewi (AUM) is Rp10,000 for adults and Rp5,000 for children, and it opens daily 10:00-18:00 according to its official linktree (checked September 2026). This roughly 3-hectare river park sits in Banjar Baler Setra, Medewi village, Pekutatan district. It used to be a durian and coconut plantation until owner Ketut Suarta opened it on 23 December 2022 (detikBali).
What's there is simple: rubber rafts along an irrigation channel, kids' pools, an adult pool, swings, canoes on a calm stretch of river, short ATV rides and a restaurant. Since it is about 2.5 hours from Denpasar, AUM makes most sense as a full day paired with Medewi Beach. The timings below assume a scooter, your own car or a car with driver, no tour package.
Day route from Denpasar
- 07.00 Leave on the Denpasar-Gilimanuk road. The later you go, the longer the truck queues on the Tabanan-Antosari stretch.
- 09.00 Stop at Yeh Leh Beach, a black-rock roadside stop in Pekutatan, for breakfast and a stretch.
- 09.45 Turn into Medewi village following the AUM signs. Park, then take the free shuttle, because the road down to the river is steep, about 200 metres.
- 10.00-13.00 Go in at opening time, while the pools and channel are quiet. detikBali reports visitor numbers reach the hundreds on holidays. Rafts run about Rp25,000 per person and the ATV Rp30,000 for roughly 10 minutes (from visitor reviews and Info Jembrana, subject to change).
- 13.00 Lunch at the AUM restaurant, which detikBali says serves grilled fish, or bring your own food. The management allows it.
- 14.30 Head to Medewi Beach, a few minutes toward the coast, to watch surfers on the long left-hander.
- 17.00 Sunset at Medewi, or drive about 15-20 minutes west to Rambut Siwi Temple before dark. Getting back to Denpasar at night takes 2.5-3 hours.
Coming from Gilimanuk
From Gilimanuk harbour it is about 55-60 km east via Negara, roughly 1-1.5 hours. Take a morning ferry from Ketapang and AUM can be your first stop in Bali before heading on to Tabanan or Canggu.
Things to know
- The floor around the pools is slippery, Info Jembrana noted in November 2025. Wear rubber sandals with grip.
- On 23 August 2025 a 10-year-old boy drowned after being swept away while playing in the river here (Beritabali). The kids' pools are shallow, but the river is still a river. Keep children in sight, especially after rain.
- The ATV ride lasts about 10 minutes, which feels short for the price.
- Bring a change of clothes, a towel and small cash. Changing rooms, toilets and a prayer room are on site.

If you'd rather split the drive, one night near Medewi lets you walk into AUM at opening and still catch the morning surf; you can find West Bali stay vouchers on AccessiaPass.
