Entry to Pengibul Waterfall is listed at IDR 5,000 per person by detikBali (October 2025), although one travel review site shows IDR 25,000. The two-tier, roughly 15-metre fall is in Apuan village, Susut district, Bangli, the same village as Tibumana Waterfall. Locals also call it Yeh Empul; some sources spell it Yeh Empel.
How much is the ticket?
IDR 5,000 appears in two separate sources (2024 and 2025). Bring small cash. If you are asked for IDR 25,000, check whether parking is included. Price checked October 2026 and may change.
What are the opening hours?
Most sources give 09.00-18.00 WITA, one says from 07.00. Mornings are safer because the forest path gets dark early in the late afternoon.
How do I get there?
From Ubud, head for Apuan village on the road towards Bangli town, about 25 km. Tibumana is the easiest landmark since both are in Apuan. The last stretch of access road is described as bumpy, so drive slowly. From the car park you walk down a forest path and steps for about 300 metres; the round trip plus a swim usually takes 30-60 minutes.
Is it safe for children?
School-age kids who are used to walking are generally fine with supervision. It is not suited to toddlers or prams: the earth steps are uneven and slippery after rain, and the rocks in the pool are slick too. No source states the pool depth, so do not let children swim alone. In the rainy season the flow can rise; postpone if the water is murky.
Are there toilets or food stalls?
As of 2024 there were no vendors or toilets at the falls; nearby residents let visitors use their home toilets. There are small warungs in the village. Bring your own water and snacks.
Any special rules?
Villagers use the waterfall for melasti purification ceremonies. Keep noise down and dress modestly outside the pool. If a ceremony is under way, wait at the side or come back another time.
Pengibul or Tibumana?
Tibumana is easier to reach and has better facilities but is busier (see our Tibumana Waterfall review). Pengibul suits you if you want a quieter pool and do not mind a rougher path. More time in Bangli? Compare Goa Raja and Tukad Cepung too.
