Marlin satay at Warung Ari in Panjer sells for Rp2,000 a skewer and a full set for Rp20,000, according to a detikBali report from December 2024; detikBali's June 2026 food list gives prices from Rp15,000. The warung at Jalan Tukad Pakerisan No. 8 opens daily 06.30-15.00, and dishes often run out before closing.
What to Order
The full set comes with two marlin satay skewers, sate lilit, jukut plecing (vegetables with chilli sambal), pepes, a bowl of fish balls and white rice. According to BaliInYourHands (January 2026), the sate lilit is wrapped to order rather than mass-made at dawn. There is also pepes serombotan, spiced Balinese vegetables.
The marlin comes from fishermen at Benoa Harbour. Nengah Rambid, who runs the warung, starts cooking at 03.00 and goes through about 10 kg of marlin a day, more than 15 kg on busy days. detikBali dates the warung to 1986 and put it on its list of legendary halal food in Bali (June 2026), while Indozone and RCTI+ say 1994, so treat the founding year as uncertain. The menu is fish-based, but we found no official halal certificate.
Not Ideal For
- Dinner. It closes at 15.00, and some dishes sell out earlier.
- Lingering. This is a simple eat-and-go warung, not a garden restaurant.
- Exact budgeting. The Rp2,000 skewer price dates from late 2024; check the board on site.
