Before You Go to Subak Bregiding: Coffee on Pangsan's Rice Dikes

The Bersanding Kopi coffee stall at Subak Bregiding, Pangsan village, Petang district, Badung, opens at 4pm for about three hours, with drinks from Rp10,000. No entry fee is mentioned. That comes from a detikBali report dated 20 June 2026, and as of October 2026 we have found no sign the stall has closed or moved.

What people usually miss

  • This is a working rice field, not a park. Subak Bregiding is a traditional irrigation area still farmed today. The stall is an old Honda C70 motorbike, folding chairs and mats on the paddy dikes. No building, roof or walls.
  • The hours are short. The owner, Agung Adi, only sells in the late afternoon because that is when people come. Arrive between 4pm and 5pm to get a seat and the soft light. At midday you will just find empty fields.
  • The view follows the planting cycle. In June the rice had just been harvested and only stubble remained. On clear days you can see from Mount Batukaru to Mount Agung on the northern skyline. On cloudy days, as one visitor complained to detikBali, the mountains and the sunset disappear.
  • The 2026 dry season hit Petang. detikBali reported six subak areas in Petang running dry and being supplied by water tankers from the Badung government. Dry fields mean brown, not green. The weather agency expects rain only from November.
  • Dikes are not for slippery sandals. They are narrow and get muddy after rain. Don't step on crops or irrigation channels, and bring insect repellent for dusk.
  • Carry small cash. There is no information about cashless payment at the stall.
  • Mornings have their use. Locals cycle and jog the subak roads in the morning. Come early for the path, but don't expect coffee.

Getting there and parking

  • Location: Subak Bregiding, Pangsan village, Petang, Badung. View on Google Maps
  • From Denpasar: about 27 km north via Sangeh, roughly 50-60 minutes. Jadesta puts Pangsan about 7 km from Sangeh village.
  • From Ubud: about 15 km via Bongkasa, roughly 35 minutes. These are estimates, so check Maps.
  • Parking: no official fee is recorded. Park neatly on the village road and don't block farm tracks.
  • Stall status: we could not confirm an official account. Search Instagram for recent posts before you go.
  • Village info: official site desapangsan.badungkab.go.id. The Jadesta profile for Pangsan tourism village lists cycling packages and farming classes.

Who it suits, and who it doesn't

Go if you want a quiet late afternoon outside Ubud with no ticket and no tour buses. Skip it if you need a clean toilet nearby, comfortable seating or a full food menu. Evidence that the stall is still running is also thin: one media report so far, and pop-up stalls like this can stop at any time.

To add a second stop, Carangsari village is about 3.5 km away, and Badung Agro Techno Park in Belok Sidan is on the same road north. Do Carangsari around midday, then drop down to Pangsan just before four.
