The cheapest visit to Hesa Wellness Spa in Ubud costs IDR 300,000 +10% VAT, and that only buys two hours in the steam room and the hot and cold pools. Treatments start at IDR 600,000 +10% for 90 minutes, and the full 3-hour packages are IDR 1,200,000 +10% per person (prices from the official site hesaspa.com, checked October 2026).
What sets it apart from most Ubud spas is the hot-cold contrast sequence: steam at 42-46°C, a hot pool at 39-41°C, then a cold plunge at 7-10°C. The spa also deliberately does not sell flower baths.
Which treatment to pick?
- Korean Zen (3 hours, IDR 1.2m): 30 minutes of facilities, a 25-minute Korean scrub with an Italy towel, bubble massage and hair wash, avocado wrap, facial, then a 60-minute Balinese massage. The best seller, according to the site.
- Hammam Adventure (3 hours, IDR 1.2m): a Turkish-bath version with 15 minutes of reflexology added.
- Balinese Bliss (3 hours, IDR 1.2m): a spiced boreh scrub and volcanic wrap before the massage and facial.
- 90-minute treatments: Korean scrub, boreh, Balinese massage, aromatherapy, Happy Feet reflexology at IDR 600,000 each; deep tissue IDR 650,000; 120-minute hot stone IDR 700,000. Thai massage only at the Jalan Sandat branch.
Do the maths: the "90-minute Balinese Massage" is 30 minutes of facilities plus 60 minutes of massage, so the hour of massage works out at IDR 660,000 after VAT, while Ubud Traditional Spa charges from about IDR 260,000 for 60 minutes. If all you want is a Balinese massage, Hesa is not the budget option. Other spas are compared in our Bali spa price guide 2026.
Which branch, and when is it quieter?
There are two branches with identical facilities. The original on Jalan Sandat sits 50 metres behind Meme's Kitchen, about a 10-minute walk from the main road; the site describes it as the quieter one, with a garden and koi pond. The lane is narrow, so it is easier on foot or by motorbike, and car parking is limited. The Monkey Forest Road branch opened in August 2025, is easier to reach by Grab or Gojek and has car parking.
The spa does not publish busy hours. What is fixed: it closes at 21:00, last booking for 3-hour packages is 17:30, 90-minute treatments 19:00, and facilities-only 18:30. There is no pick-up service.
