Very busy National holiday Official date

Eid al-Fitr 1448 H long holiday (10–11 March 2027)

Tuesday, 9 March 2027 – 15 March 2027 in 138 days

The longest national break of 2027 — seven consecutive days with joint leave, landing right after Nyepi.

Practical advice

Bali fills with domestic travellers. Room and car-rental prices spike; book far ahead or shift your dates.

Two major events collide

2027 has a rare arrangement: Nyepi on 8 March, then Eid al-Fitr on 10–11 March, with joint leave days on 9, 12 and 15 March. Bali goes from a full 24-hour shutdown straight into the largest domestic travel wave of the year — within hours.

What it looks like in Bali

After Ngembak Geni, domestic flights into Denpasar are full, roads to attractions are congested and hotel rates peak. Beaches, waterfalls and popular restaurants stay packed all week.

How to work around it

If you are planning Bali for March 2027, this is both the riskiest and the most expensive window of the year. Secure your room and airport transport as early as possible and fix the price now. If your dates are flexible, late March after the 16th is far calmer and cheaper.

Balinese holy days follow the Pawukon and Saka calendars; Nyepi and national holiday dates follow official government decrees. If your dates are critical, confirm once more with your hotel or airline.
