July–August High Season 2028

Saturday, 1 July 2028 – 31 August 2028 in 618 days

The second peak: the driest weather of the year, but also the busiest and priciest.

Practical advice

Best weather, highest prices. Book 2–3 months ahead and start activities before 9am to beat the crowds.

Best weather, biggest crowds

July and August sit in the middle of the dry season: clear skies, low humidity, and visibility good enough for diving at Amed and Nusa Penida. Which is exactly why the whole world arrives in the same months — European, Australian and Indonesian school holidays overlap here.

What changes

Room rates rise sharply, yoga classes and boat trips sell out, and icons like Lempuyang or Tegallalang have long queues from early morning. Canggu and Uluwatu traffic is the worst of the year.

How to work around it

Book accommodation two to three months ahead. Start activities before 9am — the difference between 7am and 10am at popular sites is enormous. Consider quieter bases such as Sidemen, Amed or Munduk for part of your stay.

Balinese holy days follow the Pawukon and Saka calendars; Nyepi and national holiday dates follow official government decrees. If your dates are critical, confirm once more with your hotel or airline.
