A plate of tipat kare at Warung Mek Resi in Guwang, Sukawati, was Rp15,000 in a June 2025 food video, the latest price we could find when we checked in October 2026. This home kitchen is busy because of its curry broth, and Liputan 6 SCTV was still covering it in August 2025.
What do they sell?
The main dish is tipat (rice cake) kare: yellow curry with chicken, egg and tofu, plus fried noodles, water spinach and crispy chicken intestine. There is also tipat plecing. On the side: kolak, rujak kuah pindang, rujak with Balinese palm sugar, es daluman, and an es susu salak that Google reviewers often praise.
How much does it cost?
According to the June 2025 video description: tipat kare or tipat plecing Rp15,000, kolak Rp6,000, es jamur Rp3,000. In 2023 Berita Bali still listed Rp12,000, so prices creep up slowly. Two people usually spend under Rp50,000.
When should you go?
Google lists 11:00-16:00, but the June 2025 vlog says it opens around 10:30 and usually sells out by 14:00. Arrive before opening to get a queue number.
What are the downsides?
- Long queues. Google reviews from 2019-2023 repeatedly mention 30-45 minutes, sometimes over an hour, because only two people cook and serve.
- Small and hard to find, inside a house down a narrow lane. Car parking is difficult; a scooter is easier.
- The rujak gets mixed reviews. Stick to the tipat kare.
Is it halal?
There is no pork on the menu we found (chicken, egg, tofu, vegetables), but the warung has no halal certification. Decide according to your own needs.

- Ordering: walk in. We found no confirmed GoFood/GrabFood listing.
- Nearby: Nasi Lawar Men Rangeng Sukawati and Beji Guwang Hidden Canyon.
One tip: if the queue already reaches the lane, order an es susu salak while you wait for your number.
