Nasi jinggo at Om Gundul, Jl. Imam Bonjol No. 20, Pemecutan, West Denpasar, starts at Rp5,000 a packet, and the warung was still trading according to a detikFood feature in May 2026. Kompas reported that Om Gundul has been selling since 1994.
Before you go
- Prices. Rice packets from Rp5,000; Kompas (2021) listed satay at Rp3,000 a skewer, while Kumparan gives a range of Rp7,000-20,000 depending on the topping. To eat properly, budget around Rp25,000-50,000 per person, roughly US$1.50-3 (checked September 2026).
- Halal or not. The owner says all the meat is halal, and detikFood also describes the nasi jinggo as halal. No official halal certificate appeared in the sources checked, so ask directly if that is essential for you. This sets it apart from many jinggo sellers in Denpasar who use pork.
- Opening hours. Sources differ: Kompas says 11am-2am, Wanderlog and Restaurant Guru say 12pm-2am. Arriving after noon is the safe bet.
- When it sells out. No source records a fixed sell-out time. If you are after a specific item such as sate lilit, earlier is safer than after midnight.
- How it works. Pick your packets and satay from the table yourself, then pay upfront or tally up at the end. Cash is preferred, according to Wanderlog. There is indoor seating, so rain is not a problem.
- Parking. Limited, along busy Jl. Imam Bonjol. Reviews mention about Rp2,000 for parking; a ride-hailing bike or car is easier.
- Menu. Shredded chicken (ayam sisit), grilled chicken with sambal matah, squid, pindang fish, spicy beef, sate lilit, intestine and liver satay. Some Google reviews also praise the beef soto.
Who it suits less
Nasi jinggo portions are small by design; one packet will not fill a hungry adult. The sambal is hot and, according to the owner, the whole point, so ask for a milder one if needed. It is a basic warung on a noisy main road, not a place to linger. For another halal nasi campur, try Warung Nikmat in Kuta; for classic Balinese flavours, Warung Wardani.
