Bali is still one of the busiest yoga hubs on earth: you can try a single class without any membership, and 200-hour teacher trainings run almost every month. This guide covers eight studios and retreats verified to be operating in 2026 — with their areas, class styles, drop-in rates, class passes and Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) costs.

Residential retreats and sound healing
- Om Ham Retreat & Resort — Banjar Junjungan, about 5 km north of central Ubud. Kundalini Tantra Yoga, sound healing and spa, with one- to five-day retreat packages (detox, meditation, self-awakening) that include accommodation; a Kundalini Tantra teacher training is scheduled for 2027. Prices are quoted per package, so request one by WhatsApp or the email on their site. Maps · @omhamretreat
- Residential retreats in general — a three- to five-day programme in Bali usually covers the room, healthy meals, two classes a day and one treatment. Budget roughly IDR 3.5–15 million per person depending on the property.
Styles, etiquette and what to bring
- Styles: Vinyasa is dynamic and flowing, Hatha is slower with long holds, Yin is passive with three to five minutes per pose, Kundalini emphasises breath and mantra, while sound healing or a gong bath is done lying down with no asana at all.
- Bring: mats are normally provided, so a small towel, a water bottle and sweat-friendly clothes are enough. Carry cash, since some studios still do not take cards.
- Etiquette: arrive 10–15 minutes early, leave shoes outside the shala, silence your phone, never leave before savasana, and tell the teacher about any injury or pregnancy. Do not photograph other students.
What it costs in 2026
- Drop-in: IDR 110k–200k per class; the KTP/KITAS rate at some studios cuts that by up to half.
- Class passes: five to ten classes for IDR 550k–1.5 million, saving roughly 20–30 percent on drop-in rates.
- Monthly unlimited: IDR 2.2–3.3 million, which pays off past about 18 sessions a month — the long-stay choice.
- 200-hour YTT: Bali programmes in 2026 generally run USD 2,270–4,800 (roughly IDR 37–79 million); studio-based ones such as Radiantly Alive sit lower because room and meals are excluded.
Ubud, Canggu or Uluwatu?
- Ubud — the densest timetable, the deepest teacher pool and nearly every YTT. Best for beginners and long stays.
- Canggu — an expat community, busy late-afternoon classes, and easy to combine with the gym, cafes and beginner surf.
- Uluwatu — the quietest, with fewer studios; ideal if surf and beach come first.
- Level — beginners should look for Beginner, Basic, Slow Flow or Hatha Level 1; experienced practitioners for Ashtanga, Power or Fly High.
Distance is the hidden cost: a 7am class in Ubud feels impossible from Seminyak. Pick a place to stay within walking distance or a five-minute ride of your studio, then lock the cost in first. Compare prices and book your AccessiaPass hotel voucher for Ubud, Canggu or Uluwatu — you can always add one more class, but peak-season room rates wait for no one.
