A car with driver in Bali for 10 to 12 hours usually costs IDR 550,000 to 700,000 for an Avanza, IDR 750,000 to 950,000 for an Innova Reborn, and IDR 1 to 1.4 million for a Hiace, with driver and fuel included. These are ranges from several operators whose published prices we checked in September 2026 (roughly USD 34 to 43, 46 to 58, and 61 to 86). What pushes the final bill up is usually outside the package: overtime, parking, tolls, the driver's meal, and entrance tickets.
Rates by car type (10 to 12 hours, driver + fuel)
- Avanza/Xenia/Ertiga (up to 4 or 5 passengers): IDR 550,000 to 700,000. Example: Korina Tour IDR 650,000 for 12 hours; Bali Nusa Transport lists IDR 550,000 to 650,000.
- Innova Reborn (up to 5 or 6 passengers, more luggage space): IDR 750,000 to 950,000. Korina Tour IDR 950,000 for 12 hours; Bali Nusa Transport IDR 850,000 to 950,000.
- Toyota Hiace (12 to 15 passengers): IDR 1 to 1.4 million. Rentalmobilbali.net IDR 1 million for 12 hours; Korina Tour IDR 1.4 million.
- Half day (about 6 hours): not half price. At Korina Tour an Avanza is IDR 450,000, Innova IDR 750,000, Hiace IDR 1 million.
Some operators sell 10-hour packages, others 12. Ask which applies, and make sure the clock starts when the car picks you up, not when the driver leaves the garage.
What is included and what is not?
- Almost always included: car, driver, fuel, and waiting time at attractions.
- Depends on the operator: the driver's meal (some include it, others ask for meal money) and parking. Car parking at attractions is typically IDR 2,000 to 10,000 per stop.
- Usually not included: entrance tickets, the Bali Mandara toll road (about IDR 13,000 to 14,000 per crossing for a standard car), tips, and the driver's room if you stay overnight outside the south (rentalmobilbali.net lists IDR 150,000 per night).
- Pickup outside the southern zone: free from Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Sanur, Denpasar, and the airport at rentalmobilbali.net, while far areas such as Kintamani or Tulamben add IDR 50,000 to 200,000.
Overtime, tips, and late hours
Overtime is charged per hour once the package ends: IDR 50,000 to 100,000 an hour for an MPV (Korina Tour: Avanza IDR 65,000, Innova IDR 95,000) and IDR 100,000 to 140,000 for a Hiace. Korina Tour also adds 10% per hour for use after 10 pm. Tipping is optional; fair amounts and how to give them are in our Bali tipping guide.
Sample routes and costs
1. Ubud day trip from Seminyak, 4 people, Innova. Leave 8:00, Tegallalang 9:15, Tirta Empul 10:30, lunch in Ubud, Monkey Forest 14:00, back in Seminyak around 17:30. About 9.5 hours, inside the package.
- Car + driver + fuel: IDR 850,000
- Parking at 3 or 4 stops: about IDR 30,000 to 40,000
- Driver's meal (if not included): about IDR 50,000
- Estimated total before tickets and tip: IDR 930,000 to 940,000, or about IDR 235,000 per person
2. North Bali from Sanur, 2 people, Avanza. Leave 7:00, Ulun Danu Beratan 9:00, Sekumpul Waterfall at midday, Lovina in the afternoon, back in Sanur around 20:00. That is 13 hours, most of it on the road.
- Car + driver + fuel: IDR 650,000
- Overtime 1 to 3 hours (depending on a 10- or 12-hour package): IDR 65,000 to 195,000
- Parking and driver's meal: about IDR 80,000
- Estimated total before tickets and the Sekumpul guide: IDR 795,000 to 925,000
This route is too packed for one day. It works better split over two days with a night in Lovina or Munduk, and you can pick that base with a hotel voucher from AccessiaPass so no day has more than about 3 hours of driving each way.
3. Group of 12 to Uluwatu, Hiace. Pickup in Kuta 13:00, Melasti Beach, Uluwatu Temple for the evening kecak, dinner in Jimbaran, back by 22:00. Nine hours, inside the package.
- Hiace + driver + fuel: IDR 1 to 1.4 million
- Parking: about IDR 30,000
- Estimated per person: IDR 85,000 to 120,000 before tickets
Driver or self-drive?
A self-drive Avanza in Bali costs about IDR 250,000 to 360,000 per 24 hours, for example IDR 250,000 manual and IDR 300,000 automatic at Puri Bali Car Rental, but fuel, parking, and any scratches are on you. Foreign visitors need an International Driving Permit plus their home licence, and police do check. It saves money for multi-day rentals in areas you know. For long routes, Ubud's narrow lanes, and Canggu's tight parking, the IDR 300,000 to 400,000 a day extra for a driver is usually worth it.
How to book safely
- Choose an operator that publishes prices and terms on its website, then get written confirmation on WhatsApp: start time, package length, hourly overtime, and whether parking and the driver's meal are included.
- Ask for the driver's name and plate number the day before.
- Avoid paying in full upfront to social media accounts with no website or reviews; a small deposit is normal.
- The Grab app in Indonesia offers car rental by duration (packages of several hours) in some cities; open the app to see whether the option appears where you are, since availability changes.
- For a simple hotel change or airport run, a day hire usually costs more than a one-way transfer. Compare first with our Ngurah Rai airport transfer guide and the overview of Bali transport options.
One small habit that saves money: order your stops in one direction (north to south, for example) before booking, because doubling back between areas eats package hours faster than long stops do.
