Just off the traffic of Jl. By Pass Ngurah Rai, Desa Budaya Kertalangu opens onto a stretch of green rice fields in the middle of Denpasar. Conceived as a cultural village and urban green space, it is now the city's favourite spot for a morning workout.
It is roughly 15 minutes' drive from central Denpasar, 20 from Sanur and 35 from Ngurah Rai Airport. The gate sits right on the bypass, so a scooter or ride-hailing car is easiest — avoid rush hour, when this stretch clogs up.
A Jogging Track Around the Rice Fields
The track loops around paddies that are still farmed, so you really run between rice stalks and irrigation channels. It is best before 8 am or close to sunset.
The World Peace Gong and Photo Spots
- The Gong Perdamaian Dunia (World Peace Gong), a monument ringed by national flags as a symbol of unity.
- Bamboo bridges, gazebos and paddy dykes that make favourite photo backdrops.

Family Activities and Food
- A fishing pond with tackle for hire.
- A children's outbound area, horse riding and ATV rides.
