Pura Tirta Tadah Uwuk sits at the bottom of a valley in Nyalian village, Banjarangkan District, Klungkung, out of sight from the main road. According to budayabali.com (February 2026), its spring emerges from cracks in the cliff and feeds ten spouts: five at the upper pool, five at the lower pool. It is managed by Banjar Adat Uma Anyar of Nyalian. Do not confuse it with Uma Anyar waterfall in Gianyar.
Before you do melukat
- Contact the head (kelian) of Banjar Adat Uma Anyar before praying or doing melukat.
- If you have not bathed at home, bathe first in the lower pool, then follow the spouts in order.
- The northernmost spout of the lower pool is fenced off. It is Tirta Pangentas, used for death rites. Do not use it.
- Full Balinese temple dress (madya) is required.
The downside
From the car park you walk down many neat but steep steps, and climb back up afterwards. That is hard for older visitors and impossible in a wheelchair. We found no published donation amount, parking fee or opening hours anywhere (checked October 2026), so bring small cash. Weekday mornings are quietest. Banyu Pinaruh, Purnama and Tilem days usually bring more local worshippers.
Location
- Nyalian village, Banjarangkan, about 6 km west of Semarapura. View on Google Maps
- Nearby: Aan tourism village also has a melukat spring, and for a much busier comparison read about Tirta Empul.
