Buleleng Festival — commonly called Bulfest — is an annual cultural and creative-economy showcase in Singaraja, the capital of Buleleng Regency in North Bali. It features a parade, arts performances, and a bazaar of Buleleng specialty foods, and it is free and open to the public.
A Cultural Parade in the Heart of Singaraja
The opening is usually marked by a parade and mass dance along Jalan Ngurah Rai toward Jalan Veteran and Jalan Pahlawan. Several roads are closed temporarily so spectators can enjoy the procession comfortably.
- A colossal mass dance as the opener
- Art columns from various studios across Buleleng
- The main stage near the Singa Ambara Raja Monument
Arts Performances & Culinary Bazaar
Over several days the festival fills with traditional and modern dance and music, exhibitions, and small-business stalls selling creative products and local food.
- North Bali specialty dishes at stalls along the streets
- Dance and music performances from midday into the night
- Creative-economy showcases, crafts and local fashion
When Is It Held?
Bulfest usually takes place around August (the 2025 edition ran 18–23 August). Exact dates vary each year, so check the official Buleleng Regency schedule before you go.
